How PlazeMe works
Every recommendation on PlazeMe comes from one of the sources below. Where our data is limited, we say so on the page rather than filling the gap.
Alignment and readiness are not hiring predictions. PlazeMe does not know which employers will interview you, and nothing here should be read as a probability of being hired. PlazeMe currently covers 18 career paths.
Your answers
The assessment branches by where you are — high school, college, graduate school, or working. We ask about the kinds of work you gravitate toward, how much structure and collaboration you want, what you value, and what you're trying to do next. Nothing is inferred from demographics.
Resume and profile evidence
If you upload a PDF or DOCX, it is read entirely in your browser. The extracted text and the file itself are never sent to a server or stored anywhere. You review and correct everything before it's used, and only the details you confirm feed the analysis.
PlazeMe heuristics
Career alignment is a transparent rule-based score: each career has explicit weights for interests, work behaviours, structure, collaboration, priorities, industries, and intent. Education and field of study are a light signal only, never a gate. We show qualitative labels — Top match, Strong match, Worth exploring — because the underlying number is a ranking heuristic, not a measurement.
Readiness and target level
Readiness is career-specific. It combines the overlap between your confirmed profile and that career's own language, whether your past titles sit near that career's titles, industry and education adjacency where it's materially relevant, and years of experience as a modifier. Years alone never lift you to manager-level — unrelated experience stays unrelated.
Live market data
Live openings come directly from public, unauthenticated company job boards on Ashby and Greenhouse. Coverage is deliberately small and named: Ramp, Notion, OpenAI, Linear, Vanta, ClickUp, Figma, Braze, Stripe, Databricks, Airbnb, Coinbase, GitLab, Reddit. If a board fails we say so; we never substitute invented postings. A "why this may fit" note only describes observable overlap in the posting text — title, level, location, or a keyword you confirmed.
Sourced career examples
Some careers include named people whose route is documented in a public source, with the link attached. These are individual examples, not a representative sample, and not a claim that your path will look the same.
Directional guidance
Where we don't have sourced examples, transition patterns are labelled Directional. They are hand-written, informed patterns — not derived from a dataset or a sample size.
Compensation context
Compensation figures are broad U.S. context, not offers or forecasts. They vary substantially by level, location, company, and the date you read them.
High school exploration resources
Creator recommendations are manually curated public accounts and reflect individual experiences, not a representative sample. University admission summaries come from official university or program pages and carry a last-verified date. PlazeMe distinguishes stated admission requirements from admissions competitiveness, and never predicts acceptance.
